The residence on the northeastern portion of the property has
a barn and a shed associated with it (Plate 1). When reviewing the site and the Tentative Lot Line
Adjustment Map from Quartaroli and Associates,Inc.,it appears as though this residence is vacant
and has no septic system or well associated with it. When talking to Mr. Tosta, the property owner,
he indicated that at one time there was a septic system and likely a well associated with the house,
but it has been vacant for so long that he has no knowledge of their locations. He said that a long
time ago he did find the septic tank, which was full of dirt, that was all that he could find of the
septic system. If there was a well on the property he says he has never seen a pump or any wiring to
indicate its location.'
3.1: The statement of the report"One septic system exists on the property for the house on the
northeastern corner. No septic permits were found for the Site during file review at EHD on
December 7,2004."is in error. There is no way to definitively say that there is or is not any septic
system on that portion of the property.
4.1:While there is no groundwater information from the San Joaquin County Flood Control Maps
for groundwater depth.Without drilling down to groundwater, it is our assumption that the
groundwater lies, at least, between 10 and 15 feet below the surface but it may be deeper. On
October 18,2004,a ground water boxing was excavated by our office at 3737 West 11' Street
'Tosta,Henry,personal coaununication,March 9,2005.
LODI ■ SACRAMENTO ■ MODESTO
ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION 902 Industrial Way,Lodi,California 95240 0 209.367.3701 ■ 209.369.4228 fax 0 w .noandersonxom
