Hi Harlin,
Jeanne told me that you wanted us to analyze this site using both the traditional Low Risk Closure Policy and the new
Low-Threat Closure Criteria.
In the Low-Threat Closure Criteria, the 15`Criteria is: Is the Location serviced by a Public Water System.
Normally I would say that this rural site would not be serviced by a Public Water System.
But then I got to thinking, the establishment is named Three Palms Grocery. Don't Health regulations require a water
supply well that supply potable water to a grocery store required to be regulated as a small community water
system? Are small community water systems considered public water systems?
Maybe you can answer that second question first? Are small community water systems considered public water
systems? If small community water systems considered public water systems then we may have a chance. If not, there
is no sense asking the second question.
Then secondly, who at SJCEHD would know if the water system that services Three Palms Grocery is considered a small
community water system?
Phone me if is easier for you.
Thanks!
Michael D.
