Weber Street, Third Floor
Stockton, California 95202
Subject: Addendum to Workplan for Subsurface Investigation for 6732 East Highway 88,
Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Oz:
ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this letter to serve as an addendum to ATC's April 8, 1998
Workplan for Subsurface Investigation prepared on behalf of Ms. Lolly Bozzano for the
performance of a subsurface investigation at the above referenced site (Figure 1).
This addendum has been prepared based on April 16, 1998 ATC telecommunications with Ms.
Carol Oz of San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD).
Advancement of Soil Borings
To determine the vertical extent of soil and groundwater contamination at the site, a total of two
soil borings will be advanced at the project site. Each boring will be advanced until three
consecutive soil samples that contain no physical evidence (odor, PID readings, etc.) of petroleum
hydrocarbons are collected. The estimated depth that will be explored is anticipated to be
approximately 80 feet below ground surface (bgs) during this phase of the investigation.
However, if necessary, the borings will be advanced beyond 80 feet bgs to define the vertical
extent of contamination.
One soil boring will be advanced through the excavation area of the former 1,000-gallon
underground storage tank (UST), identified as Tank #3, at the approximate location where the
1986 soil sample was collected. The second soil boring will be placed between the former waste
oil UST, identified as Tank #4, and the unleaded UST, identified as Tank #1. The proposed
boring locations are shown on Figure 2.
w:\14565'veports\wkp add.doc 1
