The purpose of the <br /> subsurface investigation is to determine the vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> contamination, if any, in the vicinity of the former underground storage tanks (USTs). This work <br /> being done at the direction of San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health <br /> Division (PHS/EHD). The proposed scope of work includes obtaining permits, advancing one <br /> soil boring, soil and groundwater sampling, laboratory analysis of selected soil and groundwater <br /> samples, and preparing a summary report. The scope of work is described in detail in the <br /> following paragraphs. <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located on the northeast side of Fairchild Lane and the southeast side of Highway 88 in <br /> Stockton, California, as shown on Figure 1.
