Subject: WORKPLAN FOR A SUBSURFACE ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTIGATION FOR:
Ronald Nunan/Jon Jernigan for the Former UST site located at the
Town and Country Chevron 13336 Hwy 88. Lockeford CA, Site Code: 1621
imp
Dear Mr. Sasson:
The attached workplan summarizes a plan to perform a subsurface investigation of three
former gasoline underground storage tanks(USTs) and one waste oil UST located at the above
designated site. The purpose of this investigation will be to determine if former USTs have
impacted soil and/or groundwater beneath the site. The data obtained from the investigation
will be used to supplement a health-based risk assessment and/or a remedial action plan.
ikw
After reviewing driller logs of supply wells located in the vicinity of the subject site, at the
State Department of Water Resources in Sacramento, it is apparent that the regional
groundwater depth is 90 to 120 feet below ground surface. It is therefore not expected that we
will encounter groundwater during the proposed subsurface investigation. The workplan has
therefore been written to address soil contamination, only. Groundwater grab samples will be
collected from the open borehole if groundwater is encountered and no groundwater
monitoring wells will be constructed. Step-out boreholes will be installed in addition to the six
(6) (e.g.one-0 foot& five-20 foot deep), 8 inch hollow-stem auger boreholes proposed herein, if
obvious signs of significant hydrocarbons are encountered in any of the outlying boreboles. If
you have any questions, please call me.
it DG
FS!p_
Sincerely, 5 N 1. Gp
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION
04 E. Weber Ave. Third Floor
CERTIFIED 0.
