Workplan for Nunan - 07/15/97 Page 6
i. 1.3 Site Hydrogeology
6. The Mokelumne River is located approximately one mile to the north and to the west of the
site and the intermittent Bear Creek runs approximately 3/4 of a mile to the southeast of the
site. The site lies over a deep alluvial basin composed of shallow sandy clays with a hard pan
` and deeper sands. State DWR driller logs indicate that the water table, in the vicinity of the
site, is between 90 and 120 feet bgs (See Appendix B). No shallow perched water is shown on
the driller logs.
20 PROPOSED WORK ACTIVITIES
L 21 Scbedule of Activities
The following activities will proceed according to the following schedule.
1. Submit Work Plan to San Joaquin County Environmental Health for concurrence.
LObtain County well/borehole permits.
L 2. Notify Underground Service Alert at (800) 227-2600, 48 hours prior to initiation of site
work to have the site marked for underground utility obstructions to drilling.
L 3. Notify Mr. Steve Sasson of San Joaquin County Environmental Health and Mr. Ron
Nunan 72 hours prior to initiation of site work
L 4. Drill four (4) soil borings to a depth of approximately 20 feet bgs around the former
gasoline UST and one 30 foot deep borehole to a depth of 30 feet in the center of the
former pit. One 20 foot deep borehole will be drilled through the former waste oil pit.
LThree soil samples will be collected and analyzed from each of the 20 foot deep
boreholes and four from the 30 foot deep borehole. The boreholes will be backfilled
Lwith grout.
5. The soil sampling will produce approximately eight, 55 gallon, drums of drill cuttings.
The waste soil will be left onsite pending laboratory analysis to be manifested to a legal
point of disposal.
6. A report will be prepared and submitted to the County and the State Regional Board
which will present the data obtained (e.g. original laboratory data sheets with QA/QC,
laboratory summary tables, boring logs), summaries and interpretations of all findings,
Land conclusions and recommendations based on a risk assessment perspective.
L
L
L
