(report)submitted on your behalf by
GlaoSoly,LLC. The report presents a summary of the soilboring and sampling activities completed at
your site between 26 June and 1 July 1998. `The analytical iicsulti'of the single groundwater sample
revealed elevated concentrations of TPHg,benzene and toluene.
Based on the analytical results of the groundwater sample collected from boring B7,the extent of
groundwater impact must be determined below your site. Pleasic Aub mita workplan to San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Division and the Regional Board,to address drilling three soil borings to
groundwater, sampling soil from the capillary fringe and ssturated'izone.,and collecting one groundwater
sample from each soil boring, All soil and Smudwater samples must be analyzed for TPffg,BTEX and
the fuel oxygenated lining FPA Methods 80151802.0 and 8260. 'lite groundwater samples must be
collected using a technology that provides samples represenfative,of chemical and hydrogeologic
conditions(please see enclosed memo). The alternative to using appropriate sampling technology is to
install three monitoring wells and to begin a groundwater monitoring program.
The report also provides a calculation for groundwater flow dlreciion and hydraulic gradient. The source
of the groundwater elevation data Is not appropriate for these cslcuas
lations(please see edclosed memo).
Because no monitoring wells are located at the site or in the, vicinity of the site, a more reliable hydraulic
gradient arta flow direction for the area may be obtained freta regional groundwater maps or through the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division,
If you have any questions, please contact me at(916)'255-3132.
OR-
AFT
MARK R.LIST
Engineering Geologist
ce: Ms. Pamela Rarick,Stale Water Resources Control Board,UST Cleanup Fund,Sacramento
Mr.Jeff Wong,San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division,Stockton
Mr.Frank Goldman,GeoSoly,LLC.,Sonoma
CaWornfa Env[ronmental PratacHon agency
xreyrleaPgper
