A six-inch by two-inch brass tube was driven
Into the soil with a wooden mallet at three separate sample points within the drum
until full. Each sample tube was capped at each end with plastic caps, taped with duct
tape, and inserted into plastic Zip-loc bags. for analysis for TPHg/BTEX/MTBE. The
water sample was collected from drum # D-W-2 by lowering a 2-inch steel bailer to
the bottoms of the drum and then placing the extracted water into 40 ml VOAs with a
preservative. All samples were placed on ice at 4 degrees centigrade, for transport to
a state certified laboratory.
TPHg concentrations were 90 ppm, ND, 33 ppm, NSD, and 5.9 ppm for drums #D-9, D-
3, D-4, D-5, and D-6 respectively. Analysis of the water samples identified 250 ppb
TPHg. The contents of the six drums will be trans oded to their a e le ro riatal
• ts of I depgndina upono I •cat' f i w to immediately.
Also, we would like the site considered for closure according to the rationale
presented in the subsurface investigation.
` D
Sinc rely, ,L1N J 0 a
CERTIFIED
Franklin J.
