Briefly, <br /> the site assessment will consist of the following tasks: <br /> 1. A soil -vapor survey will be conducted to help define the vertical and lateral <br /> extent ofcontamination in the area of the former gasoline tanks , <br /> 2. Based on the. results of the soil vapor survey, a mobile drill rig will .be <br /> utilized to advance several borings at the estimated limits of the <br /> contamination plume. <br /> 3.. Additional borings will be placed within the area of contamination and <br /> completed as vapor extraction/groundwater monitoring wells for use in a future <br /> remediation system. The wells will be installed to a minimum depth of 40 feet <br /> or to 10 feet below the last observable contamination. After the wells- are <br /> developed, •groundwater samples will be collected and analyzed in accordance <br /> with the LUFT Field Manual and Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations. <br /> Once the extent of contamination is defined and site assessment activities have been <br /> completed, workplan will be developed for an appropriate remediation system. <br /> Upon your approval of the enclosed workplan, field activities will be scheduled, <br /> If you have any questions or comments regarding the contents of the enclosed <br /> workplan, please feel do not hesitate to contact me at (206) 286-4495. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Anastasia E.
