CLOSURE SUMMARY REPORT <br /> Lockeford Beacon <br /> 13975 East Highway 88 <br /> Lockeford, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr Robert Phillips,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) <br /> has prepared this Closure Summary Report (CSR) for activities performed at 13975 East Highway <br /> 88, Lockeford, California, and the results of the environmental investigations conducted at the site <br /> Ground water monitoring was also performed on 26 May 1998 The site location is illustrated in <br /> Figure 1 -Location Map Structures, monitoring well and boring locations are illustrated in Figure <br /> 2 - Site Plan <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 2 I SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is located in Lockeford, California a small lural community in northern San Joaquin <br /> County, at the west corner of the intersection of State Highway 88 and Cherry Street (Figure 1) The <br /> property is occupied by a single building and two dispenser islands Three underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs) are presently located on the northern portion of the property (Figure 2) The site is currently <br /> operated as an Ultramar gasoline station <br /> According to an assessment report prepared <br /> by Applied GeoSystems (AGS) of Sacramento, two dry <br /> wells (French drains) were formerly located on the property These wells provided drainage for run- <br /> off and wash-down from the product dispenser area It was reported by AGS that the dry wells were <br /> destroyed in July 1987 <br /> 22 UST REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION <br /> The previous USTs and product lines at the site were pressure tested for leaks in 1987 The tanks and <br /> piping passed the pressure tests, However,a faulty vapor recovery valve was discovered and repaired <br /> Four USTs were removed from the site on 21 March of 1990 Eight soil samples were collected from <br /> the excavation and were analyzed Low concentrations of hydrocarbons were detected in the soil <br /> Isamples collected beneath the tanks Analytical results are summarized on Table 1 <br /> According to records on file with the PHS-EHD, approximately 800 cubic yards of gasoline- <br /> impacted soil were removed from the tank excavation and were stockpiled on-site There was no <br />. record of confirmatory sampling following overexcavaUon <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
