1 <br /> QUARTERLY REPORT <br /> Lockeford Beacon <br /> 13975 East Highway 88 <br /> Lockeford, CA <br /> November 1994 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr Robert Phillips of Lockeford Beacon, Geological <br /> Audit Services, Inc (GeoAudit) has prepared this iepoit summarizing monitoring activities <br /> performed during the fourth quarter of 1994 at 13975 East Highway 88 in Lockeford, <br /> California (the site) The monitoring was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) and Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines The location of the site <br /> is illustrated in Figure 1 A plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2 <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> The site is located in Lockeford, California, a small rural community in northern San <br /> Joaquin County The site is located on the northwest coiner of the intersection of State <br /> Highway 88 and Cherry Street (Figure 1) The site cuirently operates as Lockeford <br /> Beacon, a gasoline station The property is occupied by a single building, canopy and two <br /> filling islands Four underground storage tanks (UST's) are presently located on the <br /> northern portion of the property (Figure 2) <br /> According to an assessment report by Applied GeoSystems (AGS) of Sacramento, two dry <br /> wells (French drains) were located on the property until July 1987 These wells provided <br />' drainage for run-off and wash-dawn from the product dispenser area <br /> 2.2 Monitoring Well Installation <br /> Prior to the sale of the Beacon station to the cuiient piopeity owner, four 2-inch diameter <br /> groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) were installed by AGS in June of <br /> 1987 to investigate soil and gioundwater integrity Petioleuili hydrocarbons were detected <br /> in soil samples from MWA, MW-2 and MW-3, and in groundwater samples from all four <br /> monitoring wells No floating product was observed in any of the wells <br /> I <br />
