i <br /> INTERIM WORKPLAN: <br /> VAPOR TEST / EXTENDED PURGE <br /> Lockeford Beacon <br /> 13975 East Highway 88 <br /> Lockeford, CA <br /> September 1994 <br /> I1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr Robert Phillips of Lockeford Beacon, Geological <br /> Audit Services, Inc (GeoAudit) has prepared this interim workplan for the property located <br /> at 13975 East Highway 88 in Lockeford, California (the site) A limited vapor extraction <br /> test will be performed on the piping installed beneath the underground storage tanks, and <br /> an "extended purge" will be performed on MW-2 The location of the site is illustrated on <br /> Figure 1 A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> 2 0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> The property is located in Lockeford, California, a small rural community in northern San <br /> IJoaquin County The site is located on the northwest corner of the intersection of State <br /> Highway 88 and Cherry Street (Figure 1), and currently operates as Lockeford Beacon, a <br /> gasoline station A single building, canopy and txo filling islands currently occupy the <br /> property Four underground storage tanks (USTs) are located on the northern portion of <br /> the property (Figure 2) <br /> IAccording to an assessment report by Applied GeoSystems (AGS) of Sacramento, two dry <br /> wells (French drains) were located on the property until July 1987 These wells provided <br /> drainage for run-off and wash-down from the product dispenser area <br /> 22 Monitoring Well Installation <br /> Four 2-inch diameter groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) were installed <br /> in June of 1987 to investigate soil and groundwater integrity at the site The wells were <br /> installed by AGS Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples from MW-1, MW-2 <br /> and MW-3, and in groundwater samples from all four monitoring wells No floating product <br /> was discovered in any of the wells <br /> L—W-.d B.--."Z9%jM0.9 <br /> I <br />
