QUARTERLY REPORT <br /> January 1994 <br /> Lockeford Beacon <br /> 13975 East Highway 88 <br /> Lockeford, CA <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr Robert Phillips of Lockeford Beacon, Geological <br /> Audit Services, Inc (GeoAudit) has prepared this report summarizing assessment and <br /> monitoring activities performed during the first quarter of 1994 at 13975 East Highway 88 <br /> in Lockeford, California (the site) Two monitoring wells and two soil bonngs were installed <br /> and sampled; groundwater samples were also collected from four other monitoring wells <br /> The purpose of the field work was to further investigate the lateral extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in groundwater <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> Lockeford, California is a small but growing community in a relatively flat rural area of <br /> northern San Joaquin County The site is located on the northwest corner of the intersection <br /> of State Highway 88 and Chea ry Street (Figure 1) The site currerrtly operates as Lockeford <br /> Beacon, a gasoline station The propeity is occupied by a single building, canopy and two <br /> filling islands Four undeigiound storage tanks (UST's) are located oirthe northern portion <br /> of the property (Figure 2) <br /> According to an assessment report by Applied GeoSystems (AGS) of Sacramento, two dry <br /> wells (French drains) were located on the property until July 1987 (Figure 2) These wells <br /> acted as drains for run-off and wash-down from the product dispenser area <br /> 2.2 Monitoring Well Installation <br /> Prior to sale of the Beacon station to the property owner, Mr Robert Phillips, four 2-inch <br /> diameter groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) were installed in June of <br /> 1987 to investigate soil and groundwater integrity The wells were installed by AGS <br /> Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples from MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3, and <br /> in groundwater samples from all four monitoring wells No floating product was discovered <br /> in any of the wells <br /> Geob$ ACuda S.ry .,[„c 1 <br /> [LCFCIOfWILQ Q��B�S <br />
