F <br /> INTERIM WORK PLAN: <br /> SOIL BORING & MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION <br /> Lockeford Beacon <br /> 13975 East Highway 88 <br /> Lockeford, California <br /> December, 1993 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr Robert Phillips, owner of Lockeford Beacon, <br /> Geological Audit Services, Inc (GeoAudit) has prepared this work plan to drill two soil <br /> borings and install two groundwater monitoring wells at 13975 East Highway 88 in <br /> Lockeford, California (the sate) The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> The site is located at the northwest corner of State Highway 88 and Cherry Street in <br /> Lockeford, California, a relatively flat rural area of northern San Joaquin County The site <br /> currently opei ates as Lockeford Beacon, a gasoline station The property is occupied by a <br /> single building, canopy and two filling islands Four underground storage tanks (UST's) are <br /> currently located on the northern portion of the property (Figure 2) <br /> Two open, dry wells (French drains) were located on the property These wells acted as <br /> drains for run-off and wash-down from the product dispenser area According to a report <br /> by Applied G eoSystems (AGS) of Sacramento, the dry wells were abandoned in 1987. <br /> 2.2 Monitoring Well Installation <br /> In June of 1987, four 2-inch diameter groundwater monitoring wells were installed at the <br /> site (MW-1 through MW-4) to investigate soil and groundwater integrity The wells were <br /> installed by AGS Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples from MW-1, <br /> MW-2 and MW-3, and in groundwater samples from all four monitoring wells No floating <br /> product was discovered in any of the wells <br /> rnelxrard B.._.wpa2 gwos <br />
