i
i Quarterly Ground-Water Monitoring October 4, 1989
Beacon Station No. 22-1, Lockeford, California AGS 87048-2
j
measured to the nearest 0.01 foot using an automatic level. The depth to water was
measured in each well to the nearest 0.01 foot with a Solinst electric water-level indicator.
An arbitrary elevation relative to mean sea level (MSL) of 100 feet was chosen for the well
casing with the highest measured elevation. This corresponds to the approximate MSL
i elevation of the site as shown on the topographic map. The well with the highest elevation
was well MW-3.
I
These data are summarized in Table 3 and were used to evaluate the relative elevation of
j the ground-water surface in each well, prepare a Ground-Water Gradient Map (Plate P-
3), and evaluate the slope of the ground-water surface across the site. The evaluations
indicate that the average slope of the groundwater surface was in a southwesterly direction
at the time of the measurement (August 2, 1989). The evaluated gradient was 0.003.
r Ground water from three of four wells at the site is at or near drinking-ater quality as
j defined by the DHS. Hydrocarbon constituent levels in the four wells remain lower than
those initially obtained. We recommend monitoring of ground-water quality in the
monitoring wells on a semiannual basis as a sufficient response to site conditions. We are
scheduling the next sampling event for February 1990.
I
Copies of this report should be forwarded to Ms. Laurie Cotulla of the San Joaquin Local
Health District, P.O. Box 2009, Stockton, California 95201, and Mr. Gordon Boggs of the
California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region, 3443 Routier
Road, Sacramento, California 95807-3018.
i
i
I
3
E
Y -- Applied GeOSYSAVns
