5!
July 16 , 1987 x - _ AGS Job No., 87048-1
Beacon Station #675 - Lockeford,: CA
The soil analyses showed very 'low to non-detectable levels of
hydrocarbon contamination to be present in -soil samples.,analyzed ,
from MW-1 , MW-2 , and MW-4 . - Hydrocarbon levels detected in soil
samples analyzed .from MW-2 indicated low to relatively moderate
` hydrocarbon contamination. WateIr samples_=,analyzed from MW-1
- through .MW-4 contained low= level's of total :volatile _hydrocarbon's,
but concentrations of benzene inMW-1 through MW-4 , and toluene
in MW-2, were detected that- exceed generally accepted drinking
water standards recommended by-:,the State Department of Health
4
Services . The highest concentrations of total volatile
hydrocarbons and benzene were detected,in soil and water samples
u JI -
collected from MW-2 . The --limited data ,;avalable seems to
indicate that the source of the - contamination is downgradient of
the tank pit and iri 'the general vicinity of the product ` .
dispensers . Two open dry wells are located in catch basins
adjacent to Highway 88 '. These °dry wells ,act. as drains .for runoff
Y ' (washdowns , rain,_ product -spills; etc. ) from the product
dispenser area- and provide a conduit.,for the introduction of
hydrocarbons into the groundwater. -
Applied GeoSYWOJnS _
