Box 2009 • (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) • Stockton, California 95201 F b
(209) 46&3400
JUL D 9 1991
C(apy
ROBERT PHILLIPS
LOCKEFORD BEACON
P O BOX 698
LOCKEFORD CA 95237
RE: Lockeford Beacon/ IN REPLY REFER TO SITE CODE: 1-926
l
621
Mini-Mart
13975 Highway 88-E,
Lockeford, CA
This office has received and reviewed the Bi-Annual Groundwater
Monitoring Report dated May 31, 1991 for the above referenced site.
Analytical results from MW-2 indicate benzene concentration of 1. 3
parts per billion (ppb) and xylenes concentrations of 1.4 ppb. The
state maximum contaminant level (MCL) for benzene is 1 ppb.
The soil results from MW-2 (soil boring performed June 10, 1987
prior to well installation) applied to the LUFT Environmental Fate
Worksheet and the soil results after tank removals on March 21,
1990 applied to the LUFT Leaching Potential both indicate further
remedial action is required. One possible means of sail
remediation in these areas of contamination would be soil venting
and should be strongly considered.
Pursuant to Section 2652 (d) of the Underground Storage Tank
Regulations (California Code of Regulations, Title 23 , Subchapter
16) a quarterly monitoring report shall be submitted to Public
Health Services, Environmental Health Division and Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) until the
investigation and cleanup of the site is deemed adequate. The
report is to show the:
-status of investigation and cleanup activities including
the results of all investigations completed to date;
-proposed continuing or next phase of investigation;
-method of cleanup proposed or implemented, schedules for
the completion of the investigation of the site and
remediation;
-method and location of disposal of the released
hazardous substance and any contaminated soil,
groundwater or surface water;
-manifest required for transport of hazardous substances;
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services 0
