d
'J'3t
July 16, 1987 AGS Job No. 87048-1
Beacon Station #675 - Lockeford, CA
Soil samples were collected from the boreholes with a California
modified split spoon sampler. Descriptions of earth materials
encountered in borings B-1 through B-4 are presented on the
Boring Logs, Plates P-4 through P-15. Plate P-3 gives a summary
of the Unified Soil Classification System used to identify the
soils. The earth materials encountered at this site consist
primarily of sand and gravelly sand.
Soil samples collected from approximately 25 through 41 feet in
"_'J depth from boring B-2 were subjectively analyzed as having
hydrocarbon contamination. Cuttings from the boreholes were
piled at the site and remain the responsibility of. the site
owner.
SOIL SAMPLING PROCEDURE
Fifty-five soil samples were collected and described from borings
B-1 through B-4 during drilling, These samples, labeled as
indicated on the Boring Logs, were collected at 5-foot intervals
from the ground surface to total depth. Soil samples were
collected by advancing the boring to a point immediately above
the sampling depth and then driving a California modified
4 .
