J
July 16, 1987
Beacon Station 4675 - Lockeford, CA AGS Job No. 87048-1
j
i
The soil analyses showed very low to non-detectable levels of
hydrocarbon contamination to be present in soil, samples analyzed .
from MW-1, MW-2, and MW-4. Hydrocarbon levels detected in soil
samples analyzed from MW-2 indicated low to relatively moderate
hydrocarbon contamination, water samples analyzed from MW-1
.F
through MW-4 contained low levels of total volatile hydroyarbons,
Wiuj
but concentrations of benzene in MW-1 through MW-4, and toluene
in MW-2, were detected that exceed generally accepted drinking
water standards recommended by the State Department of Health
services. The highest concentrations of total volatile
hydrocarbons and benzene were detected in soil and water samples
collected from MW-2. The limited data available seems to
r
indicate that the source of the contamination is downgradi_6n- of
the tank pit and in the general vicinity of the product
dispensers. Two open dry wells are located in cat,--,,, nasins
- adjacent to Highway g Y 88, These dry dells art a;; drains for runoff
(washdowns, rain, product spills, etc. ) from the product
dispenser area and
_. provide a conduit for the intrcauc.tian_of- - .---..-- ---- ----- ------------
hydrocarbons into the groundwater,
11
1 11 i 09 min
