The purpose of our study was to assist in determining the
suitability of the property for septic tank usage. The study was performed in general accordance
with the requirements of Section 9-10100© of San Joaquin County Ordinance. The following
includes background information regarding the proposed development, present use of the site,
and the historical groundwater depths in the project area. Finally, the results of our nitrate
loading calculations and project limitations are provided. Results of our percolation testing are
presented in our letter dated March 22, 2002.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
On a preliminary basis, we understand the subject 5.2-acre project site will be developed for a
new concrete batch plant. According to the letter report by Technicon dated February 7, 2002
regarding the percolation testing, the site slopes gently from south to north with the southern
portion of the site containing gravel piles and heavy equipment. This area was also apparently
being used for parking. The remainder of the site was fallow land with an irregular surface.
According to Mr. Wiebenga, the batch plant is anticipated to have approximately 20 employees.
We anticipate that waste disposal will be provided by an on-site septic tank/leach trench sewage
disposal system.
HISTORICAL GROUNDWATER DEPTH
Based on our work in the vicinity, high groundwater in the project area is expected to be deeper
than 100 feet below ground surface.
13384.G01/2002R270 March 19,2002
©2002 Kleinfelder,Inc.
