File No. 20-1100-38 KLEINFELDER
September 12, 1996
s
SLOPE STABILITY ANALYSIS
TRAINA PROPERTY
TRACY,CALIFORNIA
I. INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of slope stability analyses for the Traina Property (APN 253-210-
15) project for Teichert Aggregates. The Traina Property site consists of approximately 157 acres
and is located on MacArthur Drive approximately '/z mile south of Linne Road in Tracy,
California. A site plan and vicinity map showing the approximate location of the site is presented
on Plate A-1.
We understand that the approximately 157 acre site is proposed for sand and gravel mining. The
property is bounded by existing aggregate mining to the north, agricultural land to the south and
east, and MacArthur Drive to the west.
As you are aware, our firm has performed several similar studies for Teichert as well as other
clients at sites located adjacent or nearby the site. The closest site for Teichert is the adjacent
Rose project, our project number 20-1100-04. We understand that the proposed sand and gravel
operations will average approximately 31 to 62 feet below existing site grade. A setback distance
for property boundaries of 25 to 75 feet is planned. Proposed slopes will be 1'/z:1 (1'/7 horizontal
to 1 vertical) with a 12 foot wide horizontal bench at 50 feet below grade. Reclaimed slopes of
2:1 are planned.
II. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF SERVICES
The purpose of our geotechnical services has been to evaluate the potential slopes at the site. This
report contains the following information:
• Plot Plan showing the locations of borings drilled for this investigation
Logs of Borings
• Results of laboratory tests
20-1100-381MR960198 Page I of 01996.
