Utility and Service Systems
The project site is currently permitted by the Environmental Health Department(EHD)for water(EHD Permit
#4552)and sewer(EHD Permit#4280).All water for facility operations including potable water is obtained
from an onsite groundwater supply well approved by EHD in 1994. This onsite well also supplies an onsite
150,000 gallon storage tank to satisfy local fire protection requirements. The sanitary sewer waste is
collected and disposed of in a subsurface leach field installed onsite. The expansion will increase the
number of employees to 160 full time employees with an average of 15 visitors per day. The existing 300
lineal feet of leach lime would have the capacity for approximately 20 full time employees. Due to the number
of employees there will be a need for two systems, one for the MRF/TS and the other for the
maintenance/administration building. The applicant is proposing 410 lineal feet of leach line for the MRF/TS
and 300 lineal feet for the maintenance/administration building. The proposed tank size for the
maintenance/administration building is 1200 gallons. The MRF/TS has an existing 1200 gallon tank. The
proposed changes will require EHD permits for onsite wastewater disposal.
Letter of Concern
The Community Development Department received one letter of concern from surrounding neighbors
requesting the applicant to remove and dispose of any trash that is deposited on neighboring properties
within 24 hours when contacted. The project applicant has contacted the surrounding neighbors and has
agreed if contacted by the neighbors litter shall be picked up on surrounding properties as needed.
San Joaquin County (PA-0800005))\(Tracy Material Recovery)
Community Development Page 7
