PA-0800005 OF TRACY MATERIALS <br /> RECOVERY AND TRANSFER STATION (C/O EVAN EDGAR & <br /> ASSOCIATES) (APN: 253-130-19 & 26) (ADDRESS: 30703 <br /> S.MACARTHUR DRIVE, TRACY) <br /> The project is a Use Permit application for an expansion of an existing solid waste <br /> processing and recycling facility on a previously approved 39.2 acre site. The operation will <br /> be expanded by 12.5 acres to the south and the total site area will consist of 51.7 acres. <br /> This expansion is to accommodate the 20 year growth of the City of Tracy and the <br /> surrounding communities. The project includes expanding the existing 57,200 square foot <br /> material recovery facility and transfer station building which contains the tipping floor and <br /> other operational activities, an additional 19,200 square feet, for a total building area of <br /> 76,600 square feet. Additionally, the project includes the addition of 10,500 square feet to <br /> the existing 10,920 square foot maintenance/administration building for a total of 21,420 <br /> square feet.The proposed project includes the establishment of CDI (Construction and <br /> Demolition Inert debris) processing, wood waste grinding, appliance recycling, equipment <br /> storage, truck parking, and associated waste handling activities. The project will also <br /> include the addition of a one (1) mega-watt wood waste biomass gasification plant. The <br /> project will increase the capacity of the facility from 1,000 tons per day of municipal solid <br /> waste and recycling services to 2,500 tons per day. The project will employ 160 persons. <br /> Due to the various types of waste handling activities and recycling services the facility will <br /> operate a total of 24 hours a day seven (7) days a week. (Use Type: Major Impact <br /> Services) <br /> The 51.7 acre parcel is located on the west side of S. MacArthur Drive, 1.1 miles south <br /> of Linne Road, south of Tracy. The parcel has a General Plan designation of AIG <br /> (General Agriculture) and is zoned AG-40 (General Agriculture 40 acre minimum). <br /> The Community Development Department has reviewed the project and offers the <br /> following comments: <br />
