Mr.Raymond Vaz u
December 14,2001
Page 6
As a result of the analysis, a typical septic system will not cause a build up of nitrates
above the maximum drinking water contaminate level for nitrates (10 mg/L-N).
The actual long term occupancy of the main residence will probably range between 2 to 5
people during the life of the home. If a second dwelling unit was built, an additional occupancy
of up to 3 people may occur. The nitrate loading analysis was performed based on the level of
occupancy of the residence and a possible future second dwelling unit. Even though the buildup
of nitrates was calculated to be below 10 mg/L-N, the heterogeneous sediments of the eastern
county and deep depth to ground water add an additional factor of safety.
Conclusions and Recommendations
By utilizing standard septic system on each 10-acre lot, we believe the proposed project
will not cause a buildup of nitrates above 10 mg/L-N in the ground water. We recommend that
the San Joaquin County PHS-EHD Sewage Standards are followed. Please refer to the soil
suitability study for other project details.
Limitations
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding the
existing and proposed development, the use of the subject property, and the site conditions as
described in the Soil Suitability Study. It was assumed that the test holes and percolation test
results are representative of the subsurface conditions of the general area.
Our professional services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions
proposed in accordance with generally accepted engineering principles and practices. Test findings and
statements of professional opinion do not constitute a guarantee or warranty, expressed or
implied.
Best Regards,
NEIL O.
