No ground water was encountered in any of the borings. The soil layers most commonly
encountered was a loose to dense silty sand generally present between the ground surface and 2
to 6 feet in depth. The soil was ripped two ways by agricultural equipment to remove the
` hardpan. Pieces of the hardpan were visible in the soil. Below the silty sand was generally low
permeable soils with the exception of several clean sand layers found at various depths in
Parcel's 2, 3,4, and 5 (see Plates 8-14 for soil logs).
A four hour percolation test was performed on each of the seven (7) lots as shown on the
Site Plan (Plate 1) during a two (2) day period. Each of the percolation test borings was 4.5-
inches in diameter. Two inches of"pea gravel"was placed in the bottom of the hole. An open-
ended 2-inch PVC pipe with slots on the bottom was installed into the hole and I to 2 feet of
"pea gravel"was backfilled in the annular space. The 4-hour test was conducted in accordance
with the requirements of the San Joaquin Division of Environmental Health and observed by Mr.
Rodney Estrada of that office for each of the tests. The following table summaries the test
'p6 R,Oi
