According to the -gallon underground gasoline
' storage tanks (USTs) were reportedly removed from the site on May 22, 1990. Soil sampling and
analysis revealed no soil contamination beyond 15 feet below the ground surface(bgs).
At the time the USTs were removed, soil samples obtained just below the tanks revealed "low
levels of soil contamination" from beneath only one of the tanks (UGT#2): Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPH-G) at a concentration of 340 parts per million(ppm), Xylene at
39 ppm, and Ethyl-benzene at 3.7 ppm.
A Geoprobe investigation, completed on August 18, 1997 to a maximum depth of approximately
64 feet bgs, revealed TPH-G at 4,100 ppm, Ethyl-benzene at 17 ppm, and Xylene at 150 ppm at
' 15 feet bgs. Groundwater was not encountered in the Geoprobe boring. A soil sample taken at
46 feet bgs reportedly contained a concentration of Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) at 0.0074
ppm. Soil samples taken at 20, 25, 46, and 64 feet bgs were all non detect for TPH-G, and
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX). An unconfirmed concentration of Acetone
was reported at 780 mg/kg at 46 feet bgs.
