INTRODUCTION <br /> 1.1 Objective <br /> The purpose of conducting a Phase I environmental assessment is to evaluate the possible <br /> existence of contamination and/or contamination sources at the subject site in Lathrop, <br /> California. This report conforms to the ASTM 1527-97 standard for conducting environmental <br /> site assessments. This report has evaluated the environmental conditions of the subject site itself <br /> r and off-site secondary sources within a one and one-quarter mile radius of the site. <br /> 1.2 Scope <br /> As authorized by Mr. John Hughes of Award Homes, on October 12, 1999, our services were <br /> limited to the following: <br /> r <br /> a) Perform a field reconnaissance of the subject property for significant surficial <br /> signs of hazardous waste release, storage of hazardous materials, and surficial <br /> indications for the presence of underground storage tanks and water wells; <br /> b) Off-site research into past land use of the property involving, as applicable, <br /> telephone and personal interviews with government personnel and the review of <br /> historical documents of the subject property; <br /> C) A review of available aerial photographs for obvious surficial features indicative <br /> of past land use with attention to indicators of hazardous materials or waste use, <br /> disposal, or storage; <br /> r <br /> d) A review of fuel leak and chemical release lists and files for soil and groundwater <br /> contamination cases within a 1-mile radius from the subject site as made available <br /> through the appropriate Federal and State and local regulatory agencies, if <br /> available; and <br /> e) Preparation of this report. <br /> r <br /> TERR9SEARCH, inc.
