EMGEO <br /> V INCORPORATED <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Richland Communities, Inc. retained ENGEO Incorporated (ENGEO) to perform a Phase One <br /> Environmental Site Assessment on the Lawrence and Award Property (Property). ENGEO has <br /> performed this Phase One Environmental Site Assessment in general conformance with the <br /> scope and limitations of ASTM 1527-00 and according to our agreement dated August 8, 2003. <br /> The Property encompasses approximately 320 acres located in San Joaquin County, California. <br /> A review of aerial photographs and available historical records revealed the Property and nearby <br /> properties have been used for agriculture production, rural residential properties, and the Haven <br /> Acres Mobile Home Park and Marina. <br /> 2.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE <br /> 2.1 Purpose of Phase One Environmental Site Assessment <br /> The purpose of this Phase One Environmental Site Assessment is to identify recognized <br /> environmental conditions associated with the Property. As defined in the American Society for <br /> Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Practice E 1527-00, a Recognized Environmental <br /> Condition (REC) is "the presence or likely presence of any hazardous substances or petroleum <br /> ` products on a Property under conditions that indicate an existing release, a past release, or a material <br /> threat of a release of any hazardous substances or petroleum products into structures on the property <br /> or into the ground,groundwater, or surface water of the Property." <br /> 6008.5.001.01 Page 1 <br /> November 11, 2003 <br />
