Staff <br /> has had a discussion with a former chicken farmer and the City of Lathrop Animal Control <br /> officer and both agree that this is not a typical poultry ranch operation. Staff is therefore <br /> recommending that this operation not be permitted under the site approval process. <br /> The City of Lathrop is further concerned about the proximity to the proposed Central Lathrop <br /> Specific Plan area approximately 4,200 feet south of the subject site as it relates to the noise, <br /> smell, and the potential for disease from chickens caused by the prevailing winds to the City of <br /> Lathrop. <br /> Please advise me of any further actions and environmental determination if this pre-application <br /> is recommended for site approval. <br /> Sincerely <br /> Deanna D.
