The project site is located at 11239 S. Manthey Road,
approximately 740 feet north of Manila Road in.Lathrop. The Department has the
following comments:
.s
I..
• The proposed General Plan Amendment may result in a significant traffic impact on
Interstate 5 (1-5). Therefore, please forward a copy of the Initial Study for the project
when it is available.
i
If future development is planned, the Department will want to review a traffic impact
study(TIS) and site plan for the project when these documents are available.
Additional comments will be made by the Department at that time regarding
mitigation for traffic impacts created by'the proposed development.
• If a TIS is determined to be necessary, the Department recommends that San Joaquin
County encourage the developer to submit a scope of work for conducting the TIS
prior to circulating the local development applications for comment in order to
expedite the Department's review. This Twill insure that the TIS submitted follows the
Department's guidelines as stated in the Caltrans Guide for the Preparation of Traffic
Impact Studies, dated December 2002 (TIS guide).
