GROUND WATER
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District' ground-water
depth and elevation maps for Fall 1998 and for Spring 1999 indicates the most recent ground-
water levels for San Joaquin County. These maps were used to determine the general depth and
flow direction of regional ground water(Plates 2 through 5). The depth to ground water ranges
between 62 to 68-feet below the ground surface. The gradient ranges between 1.5 to 5-feet per
mile generally southeast. No Nitrate or DBCP well water test was required for this project per
SJC PHS-EHD. Table 3 summarizes all the available ground-water information collected for the
site and nearby area.
Table 3.
Summary of available ground water information.
Date,Deser'ptio $;Wee Groundwater Depth Notes
November 2,2000, borings, one 15- No ground water found to a total Borings drilled in two
foot deep another 11-ft deep,Neil O. depth of 15 feet different locations for
Anderson&Associates,Inc, percolation test
Spring 1999, San Joaquin County Ground About 62 feet in depth. The Modesto Formation consists of arkosic alluvium forming alluvial fan deposits
from deposits of foothill drainages. The formation is typically composed of sand, silt, and clay.
t San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, 1999, Depth to ground-water map
and ground-water elevation map for Fall 1998 and Spring 1999.
