A qualified environmental professional shall prepare a surface and subsurface contamination <br /> report, identifying any potential source of surface or subsurface contamination caused by <br /> past or current land uses. The report shall include evaluation of non-point source of <br /> hazardous materials, including agricultural chemical residues, as well as potential point <br /> sources, such as fuel storage tanks, septic systems, or chemical storage areas. If the report <br /> indicates there is contamination, corrective action shall be taken, as recommended in the <br /> report and concurred with by Environmental Health prior to acceptance of application (San <br /> Joaquin County Development Title, Section 9-905.12(a)(c)). <br /> B. Environmental Health Department requires a soil suitability/nitrate loading study indicating <br /> that the area is suitable for septic tank usage. This must be performed prior to acceptance of <br /> application(San Joaquin County Development Title, Section 9-1105.2(d)). A nitrate loading <br /> study is required, and a review fee of$465.00 must be paid at time of submittal to <br /> Environmental Health Department. <br /> The sewage disposal system shall comply with the on site sewage standards of San Joaquin <br /> County prior to approval. A percolation test that meets absorption rates of the manual of <br /> septic tank practice or E.P.A. Design Manual for onsite wastewater treatment and disposal <br /> system is required for each parcel. A permit fee of$93.00 per percolation hole is required. <br /> C. The existing private water wells shall be tested for the chemical Dibromochloropropane <br /> (DBCP) and nitrates on all existing wells prior to acceptance of application. Samples are to <br /> be taken and analyzed by a State-approved laboratory (San Joaquin County Development <br /> Title, Section 9-1115.7). <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> 7- -d-( <br />
