03/01/2004 15: V11 FAX 209 9480621 Q003/004
L
j MKLEIN F ELI)ER
4.3 ; Description of location (address/APN), type and construction of well and location
1
(well head/kitchen tap) where water samples were obtained.
SJCEHD comments: A description of the type and construction of the well from
whence the water sample originated, is required.
Response: The water sample was taken from the head of a domestic well (well W-1)
located near the existing homes. There were no SJCEHD well permits on file for the
subject property, and details pertaining to the construction of the well, such as depth and
diameter, are unknown to us at this time.
4.4 Description of constituents being tested for in the water sample.
SJEHD comments: Water samples were not analyzed for Nitrates as NO3 as required by
j Land Use Condition C.
Ih Response: Water samples in the above referenced report were analyzed for Nitrates as
N. The following conversion factor may be used to convert Nitrates as N to Nitrates as
NO3:
!,(Nitrate as NO3) * 0.2258=Nitrate as N
Where:
N= 1.1 mg/L (value obtained from the referenced report)
i
Our calculation is as follows:
Nitrate as NO3=(Nitrate as N)/0.2258
Nitrate as NO3=(1.1 mg/L)/0.2258
Nitrate as NO3=4.87 mg/L
We appreciate the opportunity of providing our services for this project. We note that the
Limitations section of our original report for the subject project dated November 20, 2003 (File
No. 3*12.G01) still applies. If you have questions regarding this letter or if we may be of
f utherlassistance,please contact our office.
Respectfully submitted,
KLEIFFELDER,INC.
