C42lC.'
'!
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
CRIME PREVENTION THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
468-4414
TO: Chandler Martin DATE 3-21-91
San Joaquin County
Community Development Dept.
FROM: Peter Burnett, Deputy Sheriff
SUBJECT: UP-91-18
This project alone will have a minimallngjn impact on
current law enforcement procedures, continued growth of
this nature will necessitate the establishment of a funding
mechanism to maintain the current level of police service.
It is recommended that the following crime prevention con-
cepts be incorporated in the following design:
All tack rooms should be alarmed and designed with security
in mind. All such storage rooms should meet the California
Model Building And Security Ordinance. A copy of which is
atttached.
Parking area should allow visual observation by employees
and security personnel.
Landscaping should include security shrubbery along fences
to discourage climbing.
All trees and plants should be placed and maintained in such
a manner -as_ f ey cannot beusedto provide concealment for
criminal activity. Trees should be trimmed from the ground to
a height of six feet and placed so they do not obscure obser-
vation.
