V 14d
KLEINFELDER
An employee owned company
File No. 19046.G01
August 8, 2002
Mr. Matt Ospital
Sierra Organics
9999-1 Austin Road
Manteca, CA 95336
Subject: SOILS SUITABILITY AND NITRATE LOADING STUDY
4343 SOUTH McKINLEY AVENUE
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Ospital:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present the results of our soil suitability and nitrate loading study for a
proposed building to be located at 4343 McKinley Avenue in Stockton, California. The purpose
of our study was to determine the suitability of the property for septic tank usage. The study was
performed in general accordance to the requirements of Section 9-10100© of San Joaquin
County Ordinance. The following includes background information regarding the proposed
development, present use of the site, and the groundwater depth in the project area. In addition,
discussions regarding our investigative procedures and the site conditions encountered during
our field exploration and the results of percolation tests are presented. Finally, the results of our
nitrate loading calculations and project limitations are provided.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
On a preliminary basis, we understand the subject 23.76-acre project site will contain a
commercial building and possibly multiple warehouse-type struc es. a sr a cu e
contains multiple dilapidated structures, one or more of which are planned for rehabilitation.
According to you, the business will have a total of about 10 employees. None of the buildings
will have cafeteria facilities inside.
We anticipate that waste disposal for the buildings will be provided by an individual on-site
sewage disposal system consisting of a septic tank/leach trench sewage disposal system.
GROUNDWATER DEPTH
During the time of our investigation, groundwater was not encountered. Lines of Equal Depth to
Groundwater contour maps published in groundwater reports by the San Joaquin County Flood
Control and Water Conservation District show groundwater levels in the project area ranging
from about 15 to 50 feet below ground surface from Spring 1981 to Spring 1999.
19046.G01/ST02R325 August 8,2002
©2002 Kleinfelder,Inc.
