CONCERNING PROPERTY OF 19171 E. MELLO AVE — RIPON
APPLICATION # VR-99-2 & SA-99-53
PARCEL # 245-130-12
1- Variance application request should be denied because of cultural practices done by
individuals involved (poultry, peaches & almonds) and possible liability problems.
2- Negative Declaration — Office of Planning & Research — Contact Person Jeff Fisher,
Page 4 — 4- a —Air & Climate A Section.
We have lived here 38 years and it sure is nice to be able to sit outdoors in evenings —
no flies or smell. We have had two family barbecues this summer and its great.
3- The present owners have owned this place for a number of years & have shown no
pride of ownership.
A. Possibly 5 years ago Alan Bitermann called a neighborhood meeting with the
Khans, the renters Jenkins and at least 10 neighbors at the Ripon Fire House.
They told us & promised lots of good things. They never did anything.
B. More than 2 years ago Jenkins took the chickens out of this place & left two
lagoons full of chicken manure. Again we had to meeting by the lagoons This
meeting was on a Friday and it was promised Monday, we are going to clean out
the lagoons To this day nothing has happened.
C. The chicken have been out for over two years. Nothing has been done to the
weeds in 1997, 1998 and 1999. It's a fire trap. I have called the county with no
response.
4- The buildings should be condemned. They will require major rebuilding so why not
make the required clearance as long as the rest of the buildings must by brought up to
code.
Sevem Dole
19275 E.
