' 5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using
industry standard protocol. The soil in this area is classified as San Joaquin Sandy Loam as
stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, as provided by the United States Department of
Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service.
' 5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The soils
classified as San Joaquin Sandy Loam in this area have permeability that is very slow. The
percolation rate was between 42 to 50 min/in. (See Appendix.)
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
' 6.1 Site map showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
test holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
' 6.2 The minimum number of shallow and deep percolation tests were performed for each
parcel: Two shallow percolation test holes were prepared for this application.
' 6.3 Description of the date, time and protocol used to prepare the test hole, including depth
and dimensions of hole, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak(minimum
12 inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and 12 inches in
diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel' in accordance with County Standards. The
shallow holes were prepared by Dan Cardoza, the owner on July 31, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. On
July 31, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hours presoak period was started. The holes were filled with 12
' inches of water over the gravel at this time.
6.4 Description of the date, time and condition of the test hole after the 24-hour soak period
(hole still intact, hole dry, preparation of hole, and depth of water used to presoak(minimum
12 inches): On August 2, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. the two shallow test holes were dry. Six inches of
water were added to the holes and the holes were deemed suitable to continue. The shallow test
' passed the minimum County requirements.
6.5 The test conformed to SJC Policy EH 02-02(correct depth,diameter,2" gravel,6" water
refill, correct readings recorded). The percolation tests conformed to San Joaquin County Policy
EHD 02-02.
6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (including readings) was provided with REHS
verification signature. The rate was correctly calculated using the last reading. See Appendix
for Test Results Form.
Shallow Test(s)
' TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
1 (Parcel 1) 42 Min/ln
2 (Parcel 2) 50 Min/In
*See Results in Appendix.
3
