Septic permit applications have been researched and included in the appendix <br /> of this report. All applications are for properties within one mile of the subject <br /> _ parcels. Predominantly, the septic systems consists of septic tanks, leach lines, <br /> and pits. Engineered systems have not been required in this area. <br /> Each parcel that is being created would be allowed to have two homes built <br /> on them by current zoning ordinance. <br /> V. GROUND WATER AND DEPTH TESTING <br /> According to the map of "Lines of Equal Depth of Water Wells" published <br /> Fall, 1999, by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation <br /> District, the depth to groundwater at this location is approximately 100 feet. The ( j <br /> gradient of ground water in the project area slopes east to west according to the <br /> map of lines of equal elevation published in the spring of 1999 by San Joaquin <br /> County Flood Control and Water Conservation District. (See Appendix). Water 4 <br /> _ samples were taken from the spigot located at the house at 7066 Mobley Road and 61 <br /> analyzed for nitrates and DBCP. Samples were taken by Mike Toy of <br /> Dillon & Murphy on March 31 , 2004. The samples were taken using the criteria <br /> of Precision Enviro-Tech. The samples were transported via automobile to Precision � S) <br /> Enviro-Tech and released to them (see chain of custody in Ap endix). The nitrates J <br /> were measured at 10.7 mg/I. The DBCP was measured atg/L. (Seems) <br /> Appendix for results.) Based on water testing results, potential for contamination <br /> by creating these new parcels is low. <br /> VI. SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTS <br /> Sixteen test holes were excavated to various depths in the area of potential '5.2J <br /> homesites. Eight were deep tests and the other eight were shallow holes. The <br /> purpose of the test holes were to determine percolation rate in these areas. For <br /> _ approximate location of the test holes, see the Tentative Parcel Map in the <br /> Appendix. Neil O Anderson and Associates prepared and tested the percolation <br /> holes. The holes were prepared in accordance with County Standards. <br /> Soils lithology in the general area of the test holes consisted of Galt Clay. <53> <br /> A copy of the Soils Classification Map prepared by the U.S. Department of l / <br /> Ag Soil Conservation Service is included in the Appendix. Their map classified the <br /> soils as Galt Clay. Based on the percolation results, there should be no potential <br /> problems or special engineering required on seven of the future septic systems. <br /> Parcel 1 will require an engineered system unless an acceptable percolation rate can )r/ ,�F, <br /> be achieved when a building permit is applied for. l <br /> 2 <br /> ,_ C:\0396\SOILS REPORT 040603 <br />
