A AV
Rr
RYKO Manufacturing Company• 11600 N.W.54th Ave.• P,0 Box 38•Grimes,Iowa 50111 •Phone 11515 986-3700•TWX 910-520-2546
RYKO ENVIRONMENTALIST II-A WATER RECLAIM SYSTEM Fax: (515)98r,-3621
DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION ,
As the RYKOwash equipment operates, wash and rinse/wax water
collects in the wash bay sand/oil separator. Large soil
particles settle from the water to the bottom of the first
compartment and any oil floats to the top. The cleanest water
from the middle of the first compartment then flows to the
second compartment .
Typically, after traveling thru the sand/oil separator, the
water is gravity fed to a separate 1, 500 gallon clarifier
tank (s) that allow for further settling of dirt particles . A
clarifier tank is usually a pre-cast septic tank with three
(3) compartments, although other configurations may be used.
A 2 HP pump, mounted within the Environmentalist II cabinet,
pulls the water from the last clarifier tank and forces it
through a cyclone separator where remaining large particles
of debris are removed and automatically purged back to the
sand/oil separator. From the cyclone separator the cleaned
recycled water travels through a flexible rubber hose to the
RYKOwash equipment where new detergent is automatically
injected.
Recycled water is used during the detergent wash portion of
the RYKOwash cycle, thus saving large amount of valuable
fresh water. At the completion of the "wash" cycle, fresh
water is utilized for the final rinse/wax. Fresh water from
the municipal water system is pumped through a separate 1 . 5
HP pump directly to a separate manifold system on the
RYKOwash equipment . There it flows through adjustable nozzles
and onto the vehicle surface . Surplus water again collects in
the sand/oil separator and the recycling process resumes .
IMPORTANT NOTES :
1 . REQUIRES A CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED COMPARTMENT SAND/OIL
SEPARATOR WITH A RECOMMENDED MINIMUM VOLUME OF 750
GALLONS . CONSULT RYKO IF VARIATION IS NECESSARY.
2 . REQUIRES CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED CLARIFIER TANK (S) .
3 . RYKO RECOMMENDS AN OVERFLOW CONNECTION TO THE SANITARY - ,
SEWER. CONSULT RYKO IF CONNECTION IS NOT POSSIBLE.
4 . CONSULT LOCAL CODES TO ASSURE CONFORMITY.
5 . CONSULT RYKO LAYOUT DRAWINGS FOR MORE DETAIL.
specev2 01/03/94
The Finest Vehicle Wash Systems
