The drums
will be sealed, labeled with content information and generation date, and stored onsite
pending future disposal. The decontamination water will be composite sampled and
analyzed by the laboratory for waste disposal profiling. Once the data is reviewed, an
appropriate method of disposal will be selected.
The soil cuttings generated during the subsurface investigation will be stockpiled on
plastic sheeting and securely covered. Clayton will collect up to four discrete soil
samples from the stockpiled soil cuttings. The soil samples will be composited by the
laboratory and analyzed as one sample for waste disposal profiling. Once the data is
reviewed, an appropriate method of disposal will be selected.
3.4.7 Laboratory Analytical Testing
At least one soil sample from each shallow soil boring will be submitted for analysis. If
petroleum hydrocarbon impacts in soil are identified, then additional soil and/or
groundwater samples may be submitted for analysis. All samples selected for analysis
will be submitted to a state-certified laboratory. All submitted samples will be analyzed
according to the following methods:
• TPH quantified as diesel and crude oil(TPH-d and TPH-cr)using USEPA
Method 8015M;
• Benzene, toluene,ethylbenzene, and xylenes(BTEX compounds)using USEPA
Method 8021B.
Selected samples from areas of petroleum hydrocarbon impact will also be analyzed
according to the following method:
• Polyaromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) according to USEPA Method 8270.
3.5 SITE SAFETY AND HEALTH PLAN
Clayton has prepared a Site Safety and Health Plan(SSHP)to reflect the work proposed
at the subject property. The SSHP will be kept on-site and details the scope of work to be
