MOUNTAIN HOOSE PROPOSED MACNADO T)RNTATIvE MAP 4. ENvatoNMENTAL CNEcKL7sT
4.15 TRANSPORTATIONfrRAFFIC
The nearest airport is the Byron Airport that is located approximately five miles northwest of
the project site. The proposed project would not result in changes in air traffic patterns.
Mitigation Measures
No mitigation measures are required.
d) Substantially increase hazards due to a design feature (e.g., sharp curves or dangerous
intersections) or incompatible uses (e.g.,farm equipment)?
All of the proposed project's streets would be designed and constructed in conformance with
MHCSD standards including adequate radii at curves and proper sight distances.
Incompatible uses of streets would not he permitted. The proposed project would introduce
new traffic hazards.
Mitigation Measures
No mitigation measures are required.
e) Result in inadequate emergency access?
The proposed project would have a loop street system and eight cul-de-sacs(Associated
Engineering, 2006). Turning radii on streets as well as at ends of the cul-de-sacs would have ,
to satisfy requirements of the MHCSD Development Standards in order to be adequate for
access and egress by fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. With these design features,
emergency access would be satisfactory.
Mitigation Measures
No mitigation measures are required.
n Result in inadequate parking capacity?
Future developers of the individual parcels must meet the residential and commercial parking
requirements that are enforced through the County Development Title and the MHCSD
Design Guidelines. This impact would be less than significant.
Mitigation Measures
MEIR Mitigation Measure M4.12-6 addresses shared parking opportunities. A portion of the
recommended text changes were made to the MHMP (EDAW, 2005b). No additional -
mitigation measures are required.
g) Conflict with adopted polices, plans, or programs supporting alternative transportation
(e.g., bus turnouts, bicycle racks)?
The proposed project would not conflict with adopted policies, plans,or programs supporting
alternative transportation methods.
