PA - 0200 ' 93 <br /> PROPOSAL JUSTIFICATION STATEMENT <br /> Cingular Wireless <br /> Proposed PCS Facility Site #SA-836-02 <br /> 24383 Mountain House Parkway, Tracy, CA. 95377 <br /> APN: 209-090-36 <br /> Introduction <br /> Cingular Wireless is continuing deployment of infrastructure for its wireless communications <br /> network in California, called "Personal Communication Service" (PCS). PCS, like cellular <br /> telephone systems, employs transceiver stations that carry and hand off phone signals as the <br /> caller moves from one area to another. In addition to wireless voice communication, PCS <br /> technology offers paging, message sending,and data transmission on a wireless platform. <br /> The coverage objective for the proposed project is to provide/enhance service to the highly <br /> traveled Interstate 205 and 580 Freeway corridors west of Tracy. <br /> Project Description <br /> The proposed telecommunications facility will be located at the site of an existing American <br /> Tower Corporation wireless telecommunications facility (75f foot high wooden monopole and <br /> related equipment shed accommodating Arch Wireless whip antennas) approved and constructed <br /> in 1998(SA-98-9). <br /> The proposal includes: <br /> • Replacing the existing 75f'monopole with a 90' monopole at its' approved <br /> location. Remount the existing Arch Wireless whip antennas at heights of <br /> 77' (to tip of antenna) and 91' (to tip of antenna). Add 12 quad polar <br /> antennas on three sectors at a centerline of 57'. <br /> • Base Transceiver Station (BTS) equipment cabinets 6'8" tall x 4'3" wide x 2'4" <br /> deep, will be enclosed within a by an 10' x 16' x 10' high shed located within a <br /> 15'x35' fenced lease area at the base of the pole. <br /> • Electrical/telephone connections panel will be located within the equipment shed <br /> enclosure. <br /> The proposed project is projected to be constructed and operational by October of 2002. <br /> Area Description <br /> The subject site is set back from road frontages and surrounded by land predominantly zoned, <br /> and used, for agricultural purposes. <br /> 1 <br />
