Three percolation tests were performed in hole 8 inches in diameter by 42
inches deep backfilled with 2 inches of gravel. The three holes were filled with
water 24 hours prior to running the test. All of the hole conditions after the 24
hour pre-soak period were dry. The test holes for all parcels were performed under
a 4 hour test. The last half hour of the test readings for all parcels were witnessed
by a County Health Official (Lisa Medina, SR. R.E.H.S.) and the test data obtained
is enclosed in the Appendix.
The results of the percolation tests are as follows:
Parcel Number Percolation Rate
1 60 min./in.
2 240 min./in.
3 120 min./in.
Two test holes were retested on September 29, 2004. The percolation holes were
prepared in accordance with County Standards. The test holes were prepared on
_ September 28, 2004 at 7:00 a.m. and filled with water to 12 inches above the
ground. On September 29, 2004 the test holes contained no water and the
percolation test was run. The results are as follows:
Parcel Number Percolation Rate
2 22.7/min./in.
3 41 .6/ min./in.
The three test areas have accommodated the desired percolation rate as required
by San Joaquin County Environmental Health.
VII. GROUNDWATER
A Groundwater test was taken from the outlet port from well on the
neighboring well, (a clean catch method was done), which is adjacent to Parcel 1 .
The well was tested for nitrates and DBCP. The samples were taken by Mike Toy,
of Dillon & Murphy, and driven directly to Precision Enviro-Tech. The results from
the tests can be found in the Appendix. The results did not yield any reason for
concern regarding ground water in the area.
VIII. CONCLUSION
Based on the results of the percolation test, and the soil profile, it is Dillon &
Murphy's opinion that the three parcels tested are suitable for onsite sewage
disposal systems. Any system proposed for any of the three subject parcels should
be designed and installed based on the most current San Joaquin County criteria.
3
