Dear Mr. Funderburg! San Joaquin County is a signatory to San Joaquin County Multi-Species Habitat Conservation and Open Space Plan (SJMSCP). Participation in the SJMSCP satisfies requirements of both the state and federal endangered species acts, and ensures that the impacts are mitigated below a Ievcl of significance in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Although participation in the SJMSCP is voluntary, lead agents should be aware that if project applicants choose against participating in the SJMSCP,they will be required to provide alternative mitigation in an amount and kind equal to that provided in the SJMSCP. SJCOG, Inc. has reviewed application PA-0400233 (SA).This project involves erecting a 100- foot monopole and installing five radio equipment cabinets. The project site is located south of Mariposa Road and west of lack Tone Road; east of Stockton. This project will require the conversion of Agriculture habitat and as such should condition the project applicant(s) to participate in the SJMSCP. The project is located within the unmapped land use areas and as per the requirements of the SJMSCP those projects are subject to case-by-case review by the Habitat Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) prior to participation.
