REVISED MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM R5-2014-0816 (REV. 1) <br /> SUTTER HOME WINERY <br /> SUTTER HOME WINERY - WESTSIDE FACILITY <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> SEPTIC TANK MONITORING <br /> The Discharger shall monitor the septic tanks as described below. Septic tanks shall be <br /> inspected annually for the presence of sludge in the second compartment of each septic <br /> tank. If sludge is encountered, then the septic tank shall be inspected as described in the <br /> table below. In addition, the first compartment of each tank shall be monitored as described <br /> below once every three years, even if no sludge is encountered in the second compartment. <br /> Type of Minimum Reporting <br /> Parameter Units Measurement Inspection Frequency <br /> Septic tank valves, pumps, N/A Observation Weekly Quarterly <br /> filters, and switching system <br /> Sludge depth and scum <br /> thickness in the first Feet Staff Gauge Annually Annually <br /> compartment of each septic tank <br /> Distance between bottom of <br /> scum layer and bottom of outlet Inches Staff Gauge Annually Annually <br /> device <br /> Distance between top of sludge Inches Staff Gauge Annually Annually <br /> layer and bottom of outlet device <br /> The Discharger shall visually inspect the tanks for signs of damages, leakage, or <br /> deterioration <br /> The Discharger shall follow routine monitoring and preventative maintenance procedures <br /> recommended by the manufacturer of the septic system. The Discharger shall retain <br /> records of each inspection by location within the facility noting the date and measured <br /> readings, and calculations. The Discharger shall also record when cleaning is required, the <br /> condition of the tanks, and the date that cleaning or repairs occurred and by whom. Copies <br /> of any Liquid Waste Hauler manifests shall be retained for review as with any other record <br /> concerning documentation of compliance with the Order. <br /> EFFLUENT MONITORING <br /> The Discharger shall monitor effluent flow to each leachfield as follows: <br /> Sampling Reporting <br /> Constituents Units Type of Sample Frequency Frequency <br /> Total flow to the leachfields gpd Meter Observation Weekly Quarterly <br /> Flow to each leachfield section gpd Calculated ' Weekly Quarterly <br /> Per dose counter. <br />
