XERXESS
COFPORATM
December 8, 2009
To whom it may concern:
Xerxes uses the approaches presented in the document Xerxes RST-11 Septic
Tank Buoyancy Calculations to convey the underground tank Buoyancy Safety
Factors for all RST-II tank models. This document provides a sample
calculation that assumes water to grade with 18" total cover (minimum
required) from top of tank to finished grade.
With the assumptions of water table to finished grade and minimum cover of
18" (the "worst-case" scenario) the resulting Buoyancy Safety Factor for the
Xerxes' 1,000-gallon and 1,500-gallon RST-II are 1.54:1 and 1.39:1,
respectively. Therefore, provided that the RST-II is buried to the required
minimum burial depth, the Buoyancy Safety Factor for the tank will exceed
Xerxes' recommended Buoyancy Safety Factor of 1.20:1. Additional cover from
top of tank to finished grade (deeper burial) would only increase these
Buoyancy Safety Factors. I have included a copy of the document for your
files.
It is the tank owner's responsibility to determine the suitability and applicability
of installation. Our sole responsibility in any installation is as stated in our
Limited Warranty.
If I can be of any further service, please feel free to contact me.
Yours truly,
9011
Jeffrey Lexvold
Sales Engineer
Attachment
Xeres Corporation 7901 Xerxes Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55431-1288
Telephone 952-887-1890 Facsimile 952-887-1870
