The laboratory analytical results of the groundwater samples collected from monitor wells DWS-I through DWS-3 on May 7, 2003, are generally consistent with the historical laboratory results. Nitrate-N was detected above the California Department of Health Services (DHS) Primary Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 10 milligrams per liter (mg/L) in the groundwater samples collected from DWS-2 and DWS-3. Laboratory EC values were above the recommended DHS Secondary MCL of 900 pmhos/czr1, but below the upper level of 1,600 p.mhos/cm in all of the groundwater samples. TDS were detected at concentrations above the DHS Secondary MCL of 500 mg/L in the all of the groundwater samples, but below the upper level of 1,000 mg/L. TKN was not detected in any of the groundwater samples collected at the site during the current monitoring event. The groundwater gradient on May 7, 2003 is to the west, consistent with historical monitoring results. Refer to Appendix D for historical groundwater monitoring data. The next annual sampling event is scheduled for May 2004.
