L
LNovember 30,2005
NOA Project Number: E05116B
/4.5 Well Water Sample Collection, Handling, and Transportation
y,5 The nitrate sample was collected in a sterile plastic container, the DBCP sample was collected in two
sterile glass vials. The samples were then transported on ice and remained under chain of custody to
Precision Enviro-Tech, Stockton.
6. i/4.6 Chain of Custody
The Chain of Custody document has been included in the appendix of this report.
L
5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION
L The Site is depicted on the USGS Preliminary Geologic Map of the Bellota Quadrangle as within the
Quaternary Riverbank Formation. Quaternary Riverbank Formation (upper and middle members)
these units are arkosic alluvium forming Mokelumne River terraces and alluvial fan;chiefly sand;
6. probably glacial outwash lower fans;abundant volcanic detritus (Plate 7).
k The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Sammy
to be composed of Bruella sandy loam, hard substratum, 0-2% slopes and San Joaquin loam, thick
surface, 0-2% slopes (Plate 8) (USDA, 1992). Table 4 presents some selected properties of these
i soils:
Table 3.
San Joaquin County Soil Survey
Selected Soil Properties of On-Site Soils.
Soil Name Depth Unified Soil Classification Salinity Soil Perme- Septic tank
and Map (in) mmhos/cm Reaction ability absorption
Symbol pH (in/hr) fields
Bruella 0-8: Sandy loam;SC-SM,SM <2 6.1 -7.3 2.0-6.0 Severe:peres
sandy loam, 8-42: Sandy loam,sandy clay loam;SC <2 6.1 -7.3 0.2-0.6 slowly
hard 42-60: Sandy day loam,sandy day;SC <2 6.1 -7.3 0-2-0.6
substratum,
0-2°/a
slopes,112.
SanJoaquin 0-12: Loam;CL-ML,ML <2 5.6-6.5 0.6-2.0 Severe:
loam,thick 12-26: Sandy clay loam;SC <2 6.1 -7.3 0.2-0.6 cemented
surface, 26-35: Clay loam,clay-,CL <2 6.1 -7.8 <0.06 pan,peres
0-2% 35-60: Indurated — --- --- slowly
slo es,240.
Note:The table descriptions do not necessarily reflect site-specific soil properties.
r
_ 6
r
