1
November 30,2005
NOA Project Number: E05116B
/6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
L /6.1 Percolation Test Locations
A site map indicating the locations of the percolation test holes is included as Plate 1 in the appendix
of this report.
L ✓6.2 Number of Percolation Tests
Shallow percolation tests were conducted on each parcel of the subject property.A deep percolation
test was conducted on parcels 3, 5 and 6.
L / 6.3 Boring Preparation and Presaturation
G A total of six shallow and three deep soil borings were advanced on the Site. The deep and shallow
Lsoil borings were drilled with a truck-mounted deep rock augur rig on October 23, 24 and 30.2005.
A 1.5-inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom was used to measure the drop of
water in the percolation test boring. Approximately 2 inches of"pea gravel" were placed in the
4 bottom of the open soil boring, then the PVC pipe was installed on top of the gravel. "Pea Gravel"
was then used to backfill in the annular space.
LPresaturation of the percolation test holes occurred on the approximately 24 hours before the
percolation tests. The depth of water used to pre-soak was 12 inches above the bottom of the
Lborings.
/6.4 Condition of Borings After Presaturation
j After the 24-hour soak period, the presaturated holes were found to be intact on the day of testing
lexcept for the deep holes on parcels 3, 5 and 6 which had water in the bottom on the day of testing.
` /6.5 Percolation Test Procedure
_5 Percolation tests were conducted for the borings on November 24,25 and 31,2005 in accordance
with the requirements of the EHD. A percolation test with a duration of four hours was performed
for each hole. The last half an hour was observed by Ms. Lisa Medina, Senior Registered
Environmental Health Inspector, EHD.The last half hour for the percolation tests conducted on
November 25, 2005 on parcels 3 and 6 were observed by Mr. Ted Tasiopoulos, Registered
Environmental Health Inspector, EHD.
L
L
Lg
L
