KLEINFELDER
6,
6 SITE RECONNAISSANCE
P
6.1. METHODOLOGY AND LIMITING CONDITIONS
Mr. Philip Marquez, Staff Biologist, conducted a site reconnaissance on October 3, 2001 to
assess and photograph present site conditions. The approximate site boundaries are shown on
Plate 2, "Site Map," and color photographs of the site are presented on Plates 3 and 4 (Appendix
A). The site conditions discussed below are limited to readily apparent environmental conditions
observed.
6. 6.2. GENERAL SITE SETTING
The site is approximately 80-acres of land located north of Jahant Road and approximately 700
feet west of Elliott Road in Acampo, California. The site is currently used for vineyards (see
L photos 1-3, Plate 3, Appendix A). The perimeter of the site is unimproved dirt road. A pump
and agricultural well were observed in the southwestern comer of the site. According to Mr.
Wayne LeBaron (property owner), the pump and well supply water to a sprinkler system that is
i
used to water the vineyards. Four pole-mounted transformers were observed along the western
edge of the site (Refer to Site Map on Plate 2, Appendix A and Photos 3 and 4, Plate 3, Appendix
A).
L The adjacent property, north of the site, contains a vineyard and a residence. South of the site is
Jahant Road, beyond which is a residential area. Vacant field and grazing land appears east of
the site, beyond which is Elliott Road. Homestead Lane appears west of the site, beyond which
are four residences and an orchard. A debris pile was observed north of the site.
i
L
I
L
i
{,,,, 20-0019-08.P01/201IR1314 Page 19 of 28
Copyright 2001 Kleinfelder,Inc.
